The Quirky Characters and Endless Coffee: A Review of Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls is a 13+ web series available on Netflix and its genre is fun- drama-comedy. The often moving, quirky series mixes drama and comedy as it follows the mother-daughter duo negotiating friendship, romance, and family. In the titular Gilmore Girls Lorelai and Rory have deep conversations that make their complex relationship seem more sister-like than parental, but the fiercely independent Lorelai never wavers in her commitment to her daughter regardless of her own romantic entanglements. While Rory is a typical teenager, her love of learning, her maturity, and her overall decision-making process consistently make her a positive role model.

The show is a perfect mix of comedy, drama, and romance. The main characters, Lorelai and Rory, are both smart, strong, and independent women who have a close relationship that is the heart of the show. Their conversations are fast-paced and full of pop culture references, making them both relatable and entertaining. The show also boasts an impressive supporting cast of quirky and lovable characters, including Lorelai’s best friend, Sookie St. James, and Luke Danes, the grumpy but lovable owner of the local diner.

The girls’ interactions are always hilarious — they constantly crack dry jokes and play off of each other’s quips. The show is so fast-paced and the humor so pointed and witty that you can’t help but laugh out loud.

Aside from the great characters and writing, Gilmore Girls is also known for its fashion. Lorelai and Rory have a unique sense of style that is both trendy and timeless. They often wear outfits that are feminine and classic, with a touch of bohemian flair. And of course, they always complete their look with a bold red lipstick.
